About the Arts Education Forum

We are the Milton Keynes Arts Education Forum (MKAEF), an independent not-for-profit organisation committed to providing high quality accessible and sustainable arts activities and teacher training opportunities across schools in Milton Keynes.

Our Structure

The Forum is currently chaired by Trevor Harris, the Arts College Manager at Stantonbury Campus. He is supported by the following Directors:

• Graham Ellis, Head Teacher of a local primary school
• Hilary Rhodes, Theatre Manager at Stantonbury Campus

MKAEF also use other education and arts specialists to support individual projects.

The day to day running of the Forum, together with project co-ordination and liaison with schools and artists is overseen by the Forum Administrator

Our Aims

• To advocate and promote the importance of the arts in the lives and learning of young people.
• Provide access to high quality arts experiences for young people of school age in Milton Keynes.
• Ensure widest possible access across all the different cultural and socio-economic groups.
• Foster sustainable links with arts organisations and practitioners.
• Work in partnership with Schools, the Local Education Authority, and the formal education sector, and engage with regional and national arts agencies.
• Provide a supportive infrastructure to enable schools to initiate their own arts activities.

MKAEF is sponsored and supported by Stantonbury Campus. Additional funding is received from Milton Keynes Council, Milton Keynes Community Foundation and Arts Council England for specific projects led by the Forum.

We also work in partnership with Milton Keynes Gallery, Milton Keynes Theatre. Stantonbury Campus Theatre, Milton Keynes Music Service and Milton Keynes City Orchestra.
