The Princess and the frog
Joint Schools Theatre Project.
I am Yaw Asiyama, a Milton Keynes based playwright with a positive track record and 15 years experience of working within schools.
On the 24/25th of September, there is the opportunity for KS4 Performing Arts and Media students from 3 secondary schools in the Milton Keynes area to participate in a theatre performance at the Stantonbury Campus Theatre.
The Princess and the frog, is a timeless, classic story which has been adapted for a minimalist, physical theatre style, with a modern twist!
Designed as a story told in four scenes, each school will have the opportunity to interpret their individual chosen section ~Through their strongest discipline - Be it: Musical theatre, Dance, straight, contemporary or period Drama, or even Film – the choice is yours– or your students’!.
The consistent character throughout the performance is The Princess, (who will be played by 3 different girls), one from each school. Each school will be required to provide 6 performers.
After an initial school meeting with you, there will be 2 follow-up workshops in respective schools, leading to an intense rehearsal period. My team and I will coordinate the final group rehearsal, prior to a performance open to the public.
