Visual Art in Primary

The Milton Keynes Arts Education Forum is delighted to offer a series of inset sessions for Primary School teachers focussing on the Art and Design Curriculum at Key Stages one and two.

These sessions are designed to improve teaching and learning of Art and Design in your school and will also provide invaluable user friendly assessment materials.

This work is provided by the Milton Keynes Arts Education Forum, on behalf of the MK Local Authority, and in conjunction with Northamptonshire Learning Achievement and School Improvement (LASI). These sessions are suitable for both the specialist and non-specialist and will be led by Nicola Scott, Northamptonshire Learning Advisor for Visual Arts.

Details of the current CPD programme can be found in our news and events section. All sessions are free of charge and are held at Brooksward School, Neathill, Milton Keynes.

In addition to this subject leader meetings are held termly at Brooksward school. These are currently co-ordinated and led by Ruth Hemingway, on behalf of the local education authority. They are advertised through the local council.

How do we address skills progression in this area of the curriculum?  We will look at a range of materials and methods including dip dying, textile sculpting and construction and an opportunity to have a go at felt making.

Kite Making                                                                                                                      

9th June

Using a traditional Japanese model this exiting cross art and design session will show you how to make a fully working kite.
